im so stuck 2 this songz..
2dae as we hav a combined thanksgivin cg.. am quite disappointed when i dun receive any prize for recognition of my hard work.. but jus now God remind me tt "do i serve for the clock (which is the gift of appreciation) or eternity??"
tt realli struck me harddd in my mind.. i could hav done even better..
and i realli do.. coz 4 the past few daes in m'sia.. a sentence from the book "romance of the 3 kingdoms" tt's always lingering in my mind..
"臣安敢不竭股肱之力，尽忠贞之节，继之以死乎!"
(i could never do otherwise than wear myself to the bone in the service of your son, whom i will serve to death.)
this statement was made when zhu-ge liang was at the deathbed of Liu Bei, the first emperor of the empire of Shu. Zhu-ge liang, the legendary military tactician, continued 2 place himself at the foot of the emperor's throne even though the emperor was onli 15 years old.. all these he did was becoz of his affection and kindness tt Liu Bei had shown me all these yrs..
how much more we should b committed 2wards God when He love us so much tt He sent his only begotten Son to die for us on the cross..
from this sentence.. i realized there ar 3 lessons 2 learn..
1.serve wif all ur heart and all ur strength - zhu-ge liang served the young emperor all the days of his life even though the emperor do not noe much abt political affairs and governing its state.. Jesus says tt we should love God wif all our heart and all our soul.. and when we love God.. we love His people.. so when we serve the people wif all our heart and all our strength.. we ar actualli doin unto God..
2.serve wif loyalty - zhu-ge liang did not serve 4 power and riches, even though he had all rights to do so. When the first emperor of Shu died, he told zhu-ge liang tt he could take the throne for himself if his heir is a fool. Apparently, the heir is indeed a fool when he does not care anythin abt the state matters. However, zhu-ge liang did not claim the throne 4 himself but instead he served the best he can.. Jesus says tt we cannot serve God and riches at the same time.. wat gd is there when a man gained the whole world and loses his own soul??
3.serve wif all ur life - most ppl did the 2 points tt was above but they didnt do this one. As promotion and prestige kicks in, they tend to be lose their original humility tt was demonstrated 2 others and they start actin as if they ar someone impt.. even thoughzhu-ge liang was the prime minister... he still continued 2 serve the wishes of the late Emperor of conquering the late emperor and he died in his own army camp where he could hav stayed at his own office and work.. if i grew old.. i do not wan 2 die at home.. it would b glorious 2 giv the best 2 God in the mission fields and then die somewhere out there returnin home in a coffin.. like Jesus.. i do wan 2 serve God no matter wat status am i holdin..
i do not hav a proper lesson on servanthood.. but i realize tt the 3 things ar the essence of successful servanthood... i always admire my connect grp leader willy as he is a model faithful servant of God in my life.. he gave his best.. he doesnt complains.. he expects nothin.. and wat realli makes me satisfied is tt the person is satisfied wif the service.. i do not need any compliments.. neither would i complain at my weariness.. but i'll serve.. for eternity..
